I was pretty happy that i manage to get a copy of Osamu Tezuka's 1997 re-released version of 'Jungle Emperor' and what happen next totally blows me away. The animation was so welly done much better than the original kimba. A lot of details as usual, characters have been refined but still maintain back Tezuka's original style. The story is a compressed adaption version of the original manga, a little bit rush. The english translation was not bad as well.
But somehow a lot of people complained that Lion King was a Jungle Emperor ripped off as Lion King have some similiar elements similiar to Jungle Emperor even the story are almost the same. But was the 1997 re-released version of Jungle Emperor a point the japanese trying to prove to Disney that they can do better? Can Lion King really stands it's ground claiming to be original? if u ask me i can only answer with this comic strip.
Just to clear this issue up, Kimba was based off of Bambi (Look at them both, the plots, and they're very similar. Sons of forest kings fighting humans...) and TLK was based off of an african folktale and Hamlet.
i think lion king probably did borrow alot from the anime kimba, but there are so many asian knock offs of american stuff its like no big deal lol in comparison
Very funny stuff. Love the expressions on alphaleo's face in the last 2 panels. Haven't seen Jungle Emperor Leo but I know enough about it in order for this to be incredibly funny to me. Great job.
Weren't Kimba and his father were advocates of being in peace with the humans.
Osamu Tezuka's simply was admired the style Bambi/Dumbo had. Note the eyes.
Sorry I'm just tired of people typing half of the facts.
