Master Grade Gundam Alex NT-1 by alphaleo14 Master Grade Gundam Alex NT-1 by alphaleo14
Just a bit bored and decided to upload something, this is actually my last year build for year end competition which started off as a practice build for airbrushing and clean finishing, to my suprised it actually won 3rd place in the competition which I didn't expect, I would be happy if I can even hit the top 6 finishing but it turn out better than I expected, but the most important from this build was the experience and new skills that I learned which will greatly benefits my future builds. Overall a fun build which took an unexpected twist.

Picture description wise, the Gundam on the left was the original snap fit kit that I build in 2007, the Gundam on the right was the newly rebuild, recolor version in 2012.

If you are keen for more WIP and the final finishing you can check it out in.

That's some awesome detailing! I mistook it for a modern game's 3D model. Awesome job here!

Is it me or is the newer version taller?

I thought you just added new panel lines but...why does it look taller o_O

yes, i have a little height extension on the hip, and leg, i also trim away a bit of the feet so the feet looks smaller, and in the end a sexier Alex, the armor still manage to fit even after the extension

RX-78-NT1... I played it in one of the gundam videogames and it was a decent machine.  When I was building Master Grades's I wanted the RX-78-NT1 because it was the Gundam Alex but I passed up on the offer because of the loose fits and how not so well Bandai did the armor.

Still I like the mech and seeing her (him) like this makes me happy.

well, i share the same feeling for this MS, most probably was the blue, yellow finishing, the gatling gun was my fav. my original build was dated back in the 2007 with very simple finishing and panel lining, after that it was left in my office until 2010 then to my cupboard, in 2012 i took it out for the sole purpose of practicing airbrushing and reborn to it current form, now it was being proudly display in the model shop.
